Janine Agoglia, owner and Senior Yoga Teacher of Purple Room Yoga

Hi, I’m Janine Agoglia, owner of Purple Room Yoga. I have been practicing and teaching Vinyasa yoga since 1995. After 22 years of teaching in studios, I set off on my own and started Purple Room Yoga, Online Yoga Studio in 2021.

My mission is to help you Age Gracefully with Strength, Balance, Mobility, and Mindfulness. Purple Room Yoga is the place to learn how to cross-train for life using the practice and wisdom of yoga.

I am dedicated to helping active adults over 50 stay active for life, feeling comfortable in your mind and body.

When your body feels stiff or painful, it is difficult to do all of the things you like to do. When your mind is racing it’s difficult to focus or sleep. Practicing yoga keeps your body strong and supple so that you can move through your day with ease, while also calming your mind for when the world seems to be going off the rails.

Online classes are for Beginner through Experienced students. Breathe and flow, build functional and core strength, improve your balance, increase functional mobility, and learn to be with what is. Move from stress and anxiety to feeling calm and present every day.

Online courses explore different areas of your practice. Both live courses and self-paced courses are available. Janine wrote Living Yoga: One Yoga Teacher’s Journey to Surrender about practicing yoga off the mat. Through humor, personal stories she explores the first two limbs of yoga.

Janine is a GenX yoga instructor who has been practicing yoga since 1995. Yoga has helped her let go of perfectionism, anxiety, and depression, and navigate the challenges of life. Through honest reflections and owning her humanity, Janine shares her bumpy and unskillful journey to finding peace and surrender. Yoga is a practice, not a “perfect.”

These concepts are thousands of years old, but still apply to modern life. Along with journal prompts and exercises, Janine hopes that this book creates space for growth within you. Her explanations of these ideas are meant to help you live your yoga practice more fully and completely, and find peace and balance in your day to day life.
