Yoga and Walking

Walking and yoga make the perfect combination for anybody over 50! Walking builds strength and stamina, plus it’s good for the heart and gentle on the joints. Yoga builds strength and mobility and increases your balance.
This year, Janine is offering this workshop on 4 Saturdays in June! Each walk is slightly longer than the week before, and you can pick and choose which ones you attend. Come to one, some, or all four!
She will go over proper walking body mechanics, because even though you’ve probably been walking since you were little, you might not be walking efficiently. Most people develop a walking style that is inefficient and can lead to lower back, hip or knee pain, or can cause tightness in the calves, and/or hamstrings.
Come for a wonderful morning of walking in the woods in Metrowest Massachusetts with a wonderful community of active adults over 50! We’ll warm up with yoga before the walk and cool down with yoga afterward. Please bring a towel or a mat that is easy to carry with you on the walk.
All sessions will be on Saturday, rain or shine (unless thunderstorming or otherwise unsafe). We’ll meet at 9am at the locations below. Emails will go out the week before with more information.
- June 7: Beaver Pond Loop via Twin Pond, Lincoln/Weston, MA. 2.2 miles
- June 14: Mattison Field and Hosmer Loop, Concord, MA. 2.8 miles
- June 21: Sudbury Road Bay Circuit (Ponyhenge), Lincoln, MA. 3.1 miles
- June 28: Great Brook Farm Acorn and Fern Loop, Carlisle, MA. 4.4 miles
Drop in for one week ($25), get a Two-Pack ($40), or get a Four-Pack ($60).
